When it comes to making your entry an event, we like to think of it as an affair that spans from friendly to fancy. So when we dial in our door designs, the door’s decorative glass is its diamond necklace.
Here are three things we do when we dress to impress:
> We tease out design cues from the house and imbue the door with them to curate color and contrast, creating a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
> We use those design cues as foundation to add our own style like an arch or straight top to the door glass. And we can decide how much glass we want to use.
> We look at the light from inside and outside the door to see how it plays with the opening, the glass and the colors of its caming (the metal detail in the glass) to create everything from patterns to privacy, subtlety to sweetness.
Because we love to combine style elements, the diamond necklace we choose for our doors needs to be nuanced to provide the design stability and flexibility we need for events ranging from the every day to the elegant. Therma-Tru‘s new Arden and Lucerna decorative glass packages deliver the top drawer cut and quality.
Therma-Tru’s Arden Decorative Glass is reminiscent of historic leaded glass for homes with earthy cues that also roll with a with modern appeal. Arden has three different suites: frosted delta glass, lightly textured chinchilla glass and elegant diamond bevels. And—we love this—we can choose red waterglass or granite accent pieces on the outside border. The caming is available in black nickel or brushed nickel. It even rates a 7 on the privacy scale.
The Lucerna Decorative Glass rocks an elegant, updated fleur-de-lis pattern that picks up round and curved style elements from lamps to landscape. There are five different glass suites to choose from: curved, diamond and rectangular bevels, heavily textured diamond border glass and a new swirling barn wood glass and an 8 rating on the privacy scale.
Arden can be used with Therma-Tru’s Fiber-Classic Mahogany and Oak collections, Smooth-Star and Traditions product lines while Lucerna is available in the Classic-Craft collections: Mahogany, Rustic, Oak and Canvas.
Both suites have triple pane construction and can be infused into sidelite details. After all, a diamond is beautiful, durable, and well-worn, goes with anything.
