For customers hoping their roof can be more art than asphalt, materials like quarried slate and thick cedar shakes come into play. They’re timelessly beautiful and add a texture and mass to the roofline that’s just not possible with typical roofing products. But they’re more expensive, and they weather. Shakes often require maintenance, and slate sometimes requires beefed-up roof framing. But there is an alternative to those systems: DaVinci Roofscapes.
