Carpenter Mark’s Favorite Tool Belt Suspenders

Mark Clement Ubee Suspenders

As a working carpenter I didn’t want to add another item to my everyday carry, but these uBEE suspenders by Perry are the best at making the entire load a whole lot lighter.

Plus, after wearing a tool belt for a few decades, my hips said it was time to try suspenders to help carry the load of my tools.

Real Deal Review

The uBEE single-point connection suspenders by Perry are fantastic. As I like to say, they’re not only the best tool belt support suspenders I’ve ever used, they’re the only good ones.

While designed for truckers, the way these things hold up my tool belt is diesel.

Smart design

Let’s start with their smart design. You wear them more like a vest than typical over the shoulder deals that clip front and back. This means a lot of things, but primarily–they clip at each hip–it means the clips are 100 percent out of my way.

All I do is slide my tool belt into the clip and the elastic suspenders slow my tool belt’s slow motion decent down my waist while transferring some of its weight to my shoulders and back–but not too much! It’s a great balance.

Lower the point load

They halt my carpenter tool pouch’s descent down my hips about 97 percent, and they lower the point load in that region.

The result is that they noticeably making the whole experience of wearing nail bags all day significantly more comfortable while all but eliminating pesky adjustments to get comfortable because all the weight isn’t in one place any longer.

Elastic benefits

Because the suspenders are elastic, when I shrink down, say to nail base or shoe molding, guess what: They shrink with me!

There are no shoulder straps riding off my shoulders or finding their way up to my ear lobe.

Same with extending. If I have to reach over my head or throw a 2-by on my shoulders, they move with me–through the entire range of motion–and there’s nothing extra to snag. Fantastic.

Adjustable

They’re easily adjustable, can be worn over a T-shirt without digging into your shoulders. Also over (or under) a jacket or hoodie. Ubee says they

Price

At about 35-bucks on Amazon, they’ve more than paid for themselves.

Real Deal Rating

Awesome. These uBEE suspenders by Perry are on my shoulders for the duration of my work as a carpenter.
