If you are handy with a drill, paint, and utility knife, this project is DIY-doable. Check out this DIY project to build a custom LEGO table that I happily co-authored for BobVila.com

A little cabinet from Habitat for Humanity ReStore can have a new life as wall art. A little bit of paint, a few tools, and a shopping trip to Habitat for Humanity ReStore can be a magical combination for a creative DIY soul. The variety of items and the endless opportunities to create new uses for those unique treasures makes my heart happy.

When we moved into this home, the armchair was already here. It was the previous owner’s armchair, and her family had lived in the home since it was built in 1903. The armchair has a long history in this home.

I selected a material mix based on cat claw repellent nailhead trim plus claw-loving natural colored twine. And this time I chose a darker stain for the wood.

How about upcycling cabinets into a plant stand?

I love shopping Habitat ReStore for so many reasons.

The first is the amazing and unique finds, from vintage pieces to trendy new items from well-known stores.

The second reason is that the items are donated, so the money I spend goes to helping build homes for others. So I get a more awesome home, and so does someone else!

I shared this upcycle with Habitat for Humanity, and they shared it on the Habitat ReStore blog. I hope you’ll click below and be as inspired to shop, repurpose and make stuff as we are.

Make a snowflake holiday card display with pallet wood and paint
MyFixitUpLife Krylon Pallet December Holiday Snowflake Pallet DIY after decorated

This year I was inspired to make a new holiday card display in our family’s ‘formal farmhouse’ style. I chose upcycling pallet wood and a few fun paint colors

We used wood from a Minwax wood staining workshop to make a tray for the holidays.

I transformed this little side table with a fresh stain of pink-and-pink, and I think it’s ready to brighten up a little girl’s bedroom.
