Question: I’m considering purchasing a home. I know it has an older deck and that deck codes have changed (I watched your video). I’m concerned about the deck. Can you see any issues from the attached photo?
Answer: You’re right. Deck codes have have both changed and improved. The last code re-write took place in 2009 and it is being adopted by local municipalities (who always have the final say about how things are built) starting in 2010.
