Tips for cutting down a tree alone
Tip for cutting down a tree, especially one like this is to not Paul Bunyan the thing. I like a top-handle chainsaw—nice and small—so I can take the tree apart branch by branch.
Cut about waist height so you can push the branches over if need be to keep them from landing in the garden, on the house, or on you. Because you’re standing up to cut at waist height, you’ve got leverage on your side.
Slow and steady wins this race. Use a bigger saw and flush-cut the stump to the ground
