Hi, I’m Lexi.
I was helping build a shelf on Sunday afternoon, and it involved hammering nails. I tried to use my dad’s hammer, but it’s too big and heavy for me.
That’s why I decided to share my hammer and nail tips with you.
1) Always pick a hammer in your size, because if it is too big, it will be impossible to hold it and hammer well. I have a kid-sized hammer that works well. I got it from Duluth Trading Company a few years ago. It came with a toolbelt that I’ve outgrown. (They don’t sell them anymore.) Here’s a photo of me hammering when I was just 4 years old. I’ve been hammering nails since I was 3.
2) Make sure the nails go in straight, because it will be easier to go into the board.
3) If the nails does slant, then the hammer will tap the side of the nail lightly on the side.
Let me know if you have any cool hammer tips or know about cool kid-sized hammers to share with me!
