Last year I was head-over-heels into fringe.
This year, it’s about the luze look. If I can add sparkle or shine to my DIY crafts or home decor, I’m a happy designer. So when Hoosier Homemade‘s Liz Latham suggested we make tree decor as a fun project during the 4 1/2 hour DIY Con I hosted, I chirped “yes!”
My intention was for Liz to show how she turned cardboard trees into a divine mantlescape, while I recreated the fringe trees I had already made last holiday, showing everyone tuning in how easy it is. I also gathered up cardstock, because it’s actually easy to make your own cone base for a tree.
But when I got a hold of mini cardboard cones, while I was talking with Liz during the live DIY Con, I got inspired to make ornaments. You can buy a pack from Amazon or a craft store for just a few dollars, or seriously, make your own and save those dollars for the embellishments.
