In the pair’s sketch about an HGTV-show that brings dream homes to families, a mother-in-law wants to make the needs of her 27-year-old cat the priority of her son and daughter-in-law’s dream renovation.

Rising mortgage rates may have the biggest impact on homebuyers since 2007. It is at an average current mortgage rate level of 4.72 percent. According to data provided by Black Knight, typical American households buying averaged-priced homes would have to spend 29 percent of monthly incomes on a mortgage payment.

That’s a sharp rise since December 2021’s rate of 3.11 percent.

The U.S. House of Representatives approved the Resilient AMERICA Act. In short, it is intended to strengthen the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) disaster preparedness programs. 

The Act would allow the agency to create a pilot program for hazard mitigation grants. It would also allow state and local jurisdictions the flexibility to adopt one of the two latest published codes.
