What You Need to Know About the Worx 20V Cordless Drill/Driver

So you are curious about the Worx 20V cordless drill/driver? As a professional tool user, my go-to is an impact driver. Hard-hitting, loud, fast…they get the job done. However, when the small Worx 20V Max Power Share cordless drill/driver got in our hands, we knew they were on to something with this design–for a wide variety of tool users.

Real Deal Review

First, unlike the cordless drills I had starting out, this thing is about the size of an impact driver–small and awesome. This is due to its brushless motor. Second, it’s smooth. There is zero reaction torque when you squeeze the trigger. We used it building a privacy screen. It sunk 2-inch screws effortlessly.

We used it assembling various projects, driving 1 5/8-inch screws and setting them just right because the electric brake on the Worx 20V cordless drill/driver is smooth.

Can it drive deck screws? Sure, a few. But it’s a 2-amp-hour battery. There’s plenty of power–see the difference between volts and amp-hours herebut that’s not what this tool is designed for.

I used it setting hardware on a kitchen remodel. It’s awesome and nimble driving–and not over-driving–screws for door and drawer hardware. It’s awesome for 2 1/2-inch face frame screws. And I wish I tried it setting Camo fasteners in a recent composite deck!

Bottom Line

The battery exchange is smooth. The 3-jawed Jacobs chuck is pro-grade. Whether you’re installing a new lock set, blowing screws into a fence that needs help or any other number of screw driving and drilling tasks, this comfortable, solid tool is a full GO in my book.

It’s outstanding for the price. The included belt hook is ideal for installers who need to hold things, get fasteners ready, and then reach for the tool, say for setting flat screen TV hardware.

Comfortable, powerful, well designed–great work light–the Worx 20V drill/driver is ready to work.
