A small bathroom can feel frustrating if you are accustomed to a large soaking tub, double sinks, and tons of storage for towels and beauty products. But really, who uses a tub every day? Or all of those beauty products? We certainly are able to travel with much less than we have in our bathrooms.

While I’m not ready to move into a tiny house, there are lessons of un-excess that can serve any sized family home for the better. We can live with way less than we were marketed to believe. There’s less to clean, less to worry about, less to organize, less to declutter.

So I’ve been thinking about minimalism, and enjoyed the Netflix documentary on the topic recently. I’m inspired to downsize what we have occupying our home, too.

In honor of the new year, and the dedication to making a New Year’s Resolution, mine is to live like we have a much smaller footprint so that we can transition into a much smaller space as we age and our kids move out from our nest.

For me, the tiny home challenge starts in the bathroom. I’m inspired by the small bathroom ideas I’ve been seeing on Pinterest, and have gathered a few below. The idea that there are options for stylish and charming smaller sinks, toilets, and tubs makes me happy. I hope this inspires you, too.

Join us on Wednesday, January 17th at 8pmET for our next #HossDesign twitter chat where we are talking design inspiration from the small bathroom and the tiny house.
