Installing a new ceiling in a basement or garage is easier and faster with a suspended ceiling.
When you are planning a basement remodeling project, the vision of the finished space is the goal. While striving to get to that dream, it’s smart to take advantage of everything that can help save time and money along the way. We want to enjoy our spaces, and have the time to make pleasure happen with our families.
You may be thinking that a suspended ceiling might not be for your home, because aren’t they just for office buildings? Not anymore. There are tons of options in style that can suit most every home design. And they make the process of finishing the basement go much faster and allow you easy access to those pipes and wires that are routing around in your basement ceiling.
If you are curious about how to DIY a suspended QuickHang ceiling, check out the remodeling video at the bottom of this blog. Yes, we shot the how-to in a garage because we weren’t remodeling at basement at the time. It’s the same process, and the ceiling probably looks fairly similar to a typical unfinished basement. So check out how a Armstrong Ceilings QuickHang grid hooks work.
The hook puts pressure on the pre-bent wire, holding it still and enabling you to get the ceiling level and flat. It also makes installing the main beams much easier than eye bolts and tie wire. This may not sound like much, but if you’ve never hung a ceiling before, this takes a lot of monkey out of the wrench.
This just makes me happy. With control and precision I can set my main beams down on a string, getting them perfectly level.
