Egg dying is a favorite annual tradition in my family. Dunking bright-white eggs into little bowls of color and then popping them out to reveal their new shade.
When I was a child, we never actually used the store-bought egg dying kits. But there has never been a limit to color or creativity. We’ve dipped eggs quickly for lighter shades, dipped them halfway to two-tone eggs, and marked words and patterns on eggs with crayon, so the wax would act as barrier to the dye.
Egg decorating can be so much more than just food coloring, vinegar and water. Check out these fun ideas I’ve discovered on Pinterest. Using sharpie markers, chalkboard paint, yarn, and more, there are so many sweet little egg-cellent creations for your inspiration.
