MyFixitUpLife + HomeAdvisor + Google + Hangout: Home prep for summer

Check out our Google + hangout with HomeAdvisor. We answer questions about windows, lawn care, exterior painting, bathroom remodeling and repair or building a new porch or deck. And we have a pile of laughs.

Mark and Theresa participate in a Google+ Hangout with HomeAdvisor

We also tell you how to NOT finish a project. Shhhhh…secret tip…

Building Moxie joins the Google + hangout and gives his take on keeping an old house looking like new and more. We get into pressure washing, deck cleaning and Building Moxie finishing Mark’s sentences.

-What projects should be on your list for warm weather projects? Outdoor projects, of course. But also don’t forget the ‘inside-outside’ projects like systems and windows. Theresa point out that clean-outs and de-clutters can help you get ready for next winter.

-What projects should you do on your own? And when should you hire it out? Well, if you think removing a structural support is OK because you want a pool table…There’s a good sign you should not be doing the work yourself. We also offer some more realistic tips.

-And what about bathroom remodeling? David from Arocon Roofing and Remodeling points out, poignantly, the nature of your nakedness in the bathroom. Mark puts on his designer’s hat to suggest reflective wallpaper. Oh yeah, he went there…

So grab a coffee and grab your Google + hangout; it’s time get your DIY on and have a laugh.
