FixitUp Find: Roto-Zip XShield

I use my RotoZip spiral saw more than I ever thought I would. I’ve used it cutting sections of subfloor to access plumbing (thank you, meatball plumber who caused that carnival!), and I’ve used it to cut out drywall, plaster and wood lath for light fixtures. I’ve even used it to fix my lawnmower blade after running over a rock and to grind off bolts in chain link fence demo.

I like that I can cut lots of different materials with it — and in oddball circumstances — so I really enjoy seeing that the latest generation of accessories (added to the already long list of them) enables me to get yet more use out of it. Bosch, who invented and makes RotoZip, introduced the XShield attachment, which converts the tool into a mini-circ saw and flush-cut saw. Along with the wood and tile cutting XWheels, it looks like an ace attachment.
