I’d don Mark’s mantra as: “Crafting wood with tools is life.”
While he’s never exactly said those words, he does cherish the experience of turning wood, whether a tree he’s cutting down or a fresh saw-milled piece of lumber, into something new.
So when I see a tool review or tool test from Mark published in a magazine, it’s not just his take on the specs, power, durability, and other features that I witness. It’s the innate desire to find the best tools on the market. Those cherished tools that can become his partners to help him on his journey: to create and conquer another challenge.
Mark doesn’t just take a tool out of the box and put it through the basics when he reviews them. He spends time on each tool. Using it in all possible applications that he can find on job sites and around our home. Sometimes the uses may seem a little odd. But, real life isn’t in the instruction manual that comes with the tool.
